AP vs RAP on items.

AP vs RAP on items.

by br3athr » Wed Aug 05, 2015 7:19 pm

I removed a pair of bracers with AP (attack power) on them and the RAP (ranged attack power) and Ranged DPS stat didn't change in my character tab. I was under the impression that the AP stat on gear affected both melee and ranged attack power. I was told by someone playing on Nost that this wasn't true. Can anyone provide evidence to confirm or deny? I am a hunter and I can see this greatly affecting my gear choices as such.

AP does affect both, unless it specifically states RAP or MAP(such as Winterfall Firewater) otherwise. Or rather, it should.

Right, "it should". But wouldn't the change be reflected on my RDPS stats in my character sheet? The item had 30 AP which should reflect about 2.122 DPS and RDPS and yet it did not.

im not sure about nost but from what i know this is "bugged for some buffs", but generally is right.

e.g. juju might doesnt work for rAP tho the tooltip just says AP, same goes for the onyxia buff.

blizzard indirectly nerfed hunters in raids by giving us much less buff possibilities than other classes. anuses.
