How should i build my pet while leveling?

Hello

I am in my 40s with a cat as pet and my spec is BM. How should i spec/build my cat while leveling 40-60?
Do i need both claw and bite? Do i need both +armor and +health on pet?

Any advice mucho appreciados.

Yes on claw and bite. Keep them maxed. I vote armor over health. But keep both upgraded, you hit diminishing returns as the levels go up, so if u only have points to raise 1 above the other, i vote keeping armor 1 level above health.

Speaking of pet abilities, my Cat seems to have none. He just has Growl, no other abilities. How do I get claw/bite/whatever for him?

You need to tame a pet that has these abilities (e.g. crocolisks have bite), play a while with it until you learn said abilities and then you can abandon it, go back to your Cat and teach it whatever it can be taught.

Thank you, but following your advice (building both armor + stamina) i always fun out of points without being able to build the "second" skill significantly high.

Also if i learn both claw and bite, will i not just be out of focus without being able to spam both?
It also seems like i cannot have both dash, prowl, growl and both of bite/claw. I am a night elf hunter with shadow meld so prowl is quite nifty.

I am not sure when this was added but afaik you can have as many abilities active as you like at any given time. Just because they don't fit on the pet bar it doesn't mean they don't work. Check the spellbook for the pet and make sure they are all active in there and they should work. It will definitely focus starve your pet though.

I'm fairly certain you cannot train all possible pet abilities. Speaking specifically claw/bite/dash/prowl/growl. If you try and train the 5th ability you get an error message along the lines of "your pet cannot learn any more skills".
