Bang from STV I would doubt be the best pet, as this is also subjective to objectives in your pet.
Also as mentioned beforehand, wotlk was the first time in the game where you could tame exotic pets with the last talent in BM. You can tame elites that are the same level as your character, but anything over 60 is untamable. This doesn't mean they will retain their stats when they were elite. All tamed pets are reduced by an substantial amount, nor do they retain any resistances or special abilities they had before as an NPC (spare a few like Snarler, if they adjust him to prenerf resistances).
Also noted as "best" hunter pet, again, subjective. If you're going hard pet dps, iirc the snow cats in WS were better as a consistent dps pet. If you're going raid support, you get the worg with max rank howl from LBRS. For PvP, probably broken tooth for fast attk speed, or a boar for the stun (someone also mentioned a scorp for the poison spam so healers couldn't remove viper as easily, debatable).
I don't want to assure much, because the server wants to start with prepatch 1.3 or so, yet use a 1.12.1 client. This could mean some pets are coded as they were later, instead of before getting nerfed.
