Taming the Beast quest bugged?

I'm doing part 2 of Taming the Beast quest on nightelf when I have to tame a Nightsaber Stalker. When I try to use the spell on one of the mobs I get the message "Invalid Target". I've tried to delete the quest and picked it up again.

Just went through this on my hunter and it is pretty buggy. I had to log in and then out in order to dismiss my previous pet, and that made it work
