Why don't you go for 2x Assassination Blade. It got 3 Str and 1%crit.
With the enchant that would be around 2,52%crit + 60 ap + 6 str - I think 1 crit is worth the 50 ap loss.

1 crit = around 30 AP. Its not 100% accurate since it depends on your other stats how valueble crit is.

Just entered a T2-ish hunter into the spreadsheet and compared +1% crit to +10AP. +1% crit came out as ~3.12DPS, +10AP as ~1.08 DPS, which would put crit at around 29 AP in that case.

Is it unreasonable for hunters to ask to bid on BB or CHT? What is the norm among raiding guilds?

I dont know what gear/buff/talents surelynotdhorn were using to test this so I gave it a try myself.

The gear i've been testing with is:

Full T1
Onyxia Tooth Pendant
Cloak of the Shrouded Mists
Dal'rends weapons
Quick Strike Ring
Don Julio's Band
Drake Fang Talisman
Blackhand's Breadth
And then I tested with both Rhok'delar and Ashjre'thul

Everything is enchanted optimally + 3 hit scope.

1456 RAP 25.57 Crit with Ashjre'thul
1437 RAP 26.57 Crit with Rhok'Delar

20/31/0 Talents

Every cycle consists roughly of:
1 Aimed Shot
1 Multi-Shot
3 Auto Shots (Rhok clipped, Ash full)

Enemy armor before debuff: 4000
Enemy armor after debuff: 605
Enemy debuffs: Sunders, Faerie Fire, Curse of Recklessness

I've only used damage increasing buffs that horde hunters can expect to have at every pull in raids. (5/5 GotW, Mongoose pot, Trueshot Aura, AotH, Juju Might)
