Excellent, this will make a lot of hunters happy. Another issue that is hurting BM hunters a bit is the Improved Mend Pet talent not working. At 2/2 points it should give each tick of mend pet a chance to dispel a debuff off of the pet.

While this thread has the attention of a Dev, I figure I'll ask a question about pet scaling. Presumably, in 1.08 a few attributes of pets were normalized. Pets being able to come with higher pursuit/chase speeds (Takk the Leaper/King Bangalash) and pets being able to come with innate base resists (Snarler/Searing Roc). Since the core of this server resides somewhere between 1.04 and 1.12, I was wondering if it was intentional that pets coming without these unique base resists or pursuit speeds is intentional or not. The fact that some of pets have had their attack speed adjusted in the last week leads me to believe that it is, but I figured i'll ask anyways in case I should tame a Snarler in advance.

I also tamed now Lupos and his damage logs are realy strange.
How can shadow damage be blocked? Lupos had als some shadow damage listed as (glancing).
For me this looks like his damage is still treated in some way as physical.

Indeed, and as my archaic screenshot shows, the damage is also reduced by resistance. It should be one or the other for sure, which one I'm not certain of.

Should actually be blizzlike. Those abilities are called "Magic Damage Melee Special Attacks", for details see http://www.wowwiki.com/Attack_table

" Magic-damage melee special attacks

Some monsters also have melee "specials" (the equivalent of yellow-damage attacks done by players) that do magic damage. For example, the Crystal Strike ability of the Erratic Sentries on the Isle of Quel'Danas inflicts Arcane damage, but is resolved as an ordinary melee special attack—it can miss, be dodged, be parried, and be blocked, and does double damage on a crit. The only difference between how a magic-damage melee special attack, and an ordinary physical damage melee special attack, is resolved is that if the target has any resistance to that school of magic, the same check is made to see if the damage is partially resisted as would happen from a spell. "

So instead of being mitigated by Armor Value, they are mitigated by the target's resistance. Whole attack table still applies since it's a melee ability.

For Magic-damage melee auto-attacks the ability to miss, be dodged, be parried, be blocked was added in patch 3.0 . There was a reason Lupos was so good in PVP battles against Warriors and Paladins.

At the bottom you can also see the info that it was added with patch 3.02
Patch 3.0.2 (2008-10-14): Magic-damage melee auto-attacks can now be blocked.

Does anyone know if pet pursuit/run/chase speed is normalized here and/or whether or not it's supposed to be? Bangalash, Takk the Leaper, etc.

Edit: Also, base resists for pets like Snarler and Searing Roc do not work here, is that intentional? Apparently that didn't happen until 1.8. If anyone has any information that suggests otherwise in either regard let me know.

"Lupos attacks, Dust Stormer resists all the damage." Until either this is fixed or his damage isn't mitigated by armor (again, i'm not sure which is "blizzlike", this pet is just bad.
