Hunter spell priority and spec

Hunter spell priority and spec

by steveobroil1 » Wed Jun 10, 2015 12:28 am

To cut to the chase I began playing on nost about 3 weeks ago and decided to roll hunter having played everything but in vanilla.

I have been told that the use of arcane shot is a waste of mana and pointless and told to use multi-shot, though I am beast mastery and not sure if this is correct?

Also is it bad that I am BM? Should I be MM?

While I am making a post I might as well throw in another question regarding Leatherworking, reading a lot of the old vanilla forums it seems that Dragonscale leatherworking although the closest relating to hunter as a class seems to be a waste, has anyone got some useful information on which LW mastery I should choose?

Thanks!

Hello! In vanilla you want 2/31/18 spec for low-end gear and once you get 9% hit, you can spec to 20/31/0 for more pet damage.
About LW, pick tribal for Devilsaur set, you can craft it by yourself and sell it to others, it's BiS for hunters, rogues, fury warriors and feral druids who think they can deal good damage (lol).
All things about arcane shots is true. it's waste of mana, it's only good for mob tagging.

Here some usefull links for you:

If you're levelling BM I'd stick with it until you're 60. It's just a nicer way to level.

Hunter rotation is auto/aimed/auto/multi/auto/repeat. Unless you're BM in which case it's pet and auto and watch tv :p

As for builds, I think me and Lederer disagree, but it depends what you want to do at 60. Just be aware I've heard hunter's mark is broken atm on Nos, and with the limited debuff slots raids won't want you using it anyway.

This is my PvE spec, not cookie cutter but it's good utility. The extras, you need to know why you chose them over say pet dps:

Yeah basically my kiting spec lol but I do raid with it. Just gives you a bit of an edge against the latency issues if you're solo kiting. For DM N I almost wish I'd put into Imp Rev Pet for faster runs but my respec costs have hit 40g now :p

For raids I think the MM tree is pretty cookie cutter, but you do get leeway on the BM and Surv side. Pet armour doesn't matter, they tend to die quickly anyway, and Humanoid Slaying not so much either. But for dungeons both can be handy.
