Nostalrius Begins - Quality wow vanilla realm (1.12)

I began to level a new hunter and as I hit level 10 I did the hunter quest to get the pet. I completed all the quests as normal, turned them in, and now I don't have the "feed pet" skill. Everything else seems fine. Sadly, this is completely hindering due to not being able to feed a new pet and it abandoning me within the hour. Am I just going to have to level another hunter and see if the issue happens again? Or am I a goober and doing something wrong?

You are a goober, lol. You get another quest which asks you to run to darnassus (if you rolled a nelf) to speak with the hunter trainer there. Completion of that quests gives you a couple more pet skills along with feed pet.
