Pet Stance "passivemode" broken

Pet Stance "passivemode" broken

by Maldun » Tue Mar 03, 2015 4:00 pm

First of all I have to confirm the reports about the absolutely broken pet health-regen bug that gives hunters a huge advantage in case of grinding to 60 compared to other classes. Additionally the loottables are far off something the server advertisement declared as "blizzlike", whatever that shall be.

In the beginning I was very amazed about the staff reporting on the overworked pet issues, but instead of fixing common freeserver bugs you guys deadscripted basic pet-control behaviour. If i set my pet on "passivemode" (as every good hunter will do to get best control of his pet via macro usage) it won´t use its abbilities properly anymore... (e.g claw, growl(!!! da fuq)) and so on..)

If I choose "defensivemode" it will use all attacks but it will be less controlled and is up to pull mobs and run around like crazed... so it will be at last punished by exilum in instances and raids .... great

I´m a little bit disappointed due to the fact that i expected an experience far more advanced than the one I could get on other 3rd class P´s. But I know that you do this in your spare time and I hope you will get some things fixed in the future (honestly I don´t want to imagine the quality of raidboss scripting at the actual state of development)

Contrary to your claims, I have experience none of these issues that you are reporting.

Passive mode works fine for my bear, he growls and rakes automatically and holds aggro.

As for the health regen, I never played a hunter in vanilla so I can't comment on that. People seem to be undecided on these forums whether the pet regen should be that high or not.

Regardless, this is a forum for class discussion, bug reports should go to the bug reports section, loottables have nothing to do with the Hunter class.

Cheers,

Pets regen health like evading NPCs?
No way...still level 7, but if that's the case, it's very broken.

Pets regen health like players do (something like that).
I'm not root of myself.

same problem as OP.

Pet regen is incredibly OP and my pet rarely growls on passive. I have growl keybinded, but i would like press petattack, autoshoot and alt tab to watch youtube/porn

Might it be that the pet isn't prioritising Growl and instead dumping focus into claw/bite? I haven't noticed this issue. My passive pet is growling quite nicely. But if it's been coded wrong then it might depend on which ability was learned first, or something like that.

It is not a prioritizing problem. I checked that it´s not due to low focus nor the line up of the pet spells. I also tried different pet species/ had a pet with only growl as ability. If it is related to a spell training bug, why would it work properly in DefensiveMode?

I suggest it is an overscripted force back of your pet a la "do not use your aggro generating abilities if I ordered you to stay passive" thing... But if you are certain that it works for you I don´t know... be happy :D

Friend of mine also stating the same thing where pet regen is unreal. I'm having a different issue on the opposite faction however, I have both a boar and lion pet from Durotar/Barrens neither pet does more than 2-3 damage on auto attacks.

It's frustrating!

Also having the same problem with passive mode. My pet will autocast growl when it first engages a mob, then will not auto cast growl or claw after that. Miss being able to use passive mode :(

Yes at this moment putting ''autocast" aka (right click) on any of the pets abilities bugs out. Specially if they only have a global cd like Claw for example. My pet will claw once and after the GCD is over it wont class for like 7-8 more seconds. If u click manually the claw is usuable but when u put it on autocast its getting messed up. Hope it gets a fix soon. We are talking about hunter pets here...its importent.
