Nostalrius Begins - Quality wow vanilla realm (1.12)

Hello there! Today i've tamed Ghost Saber (20 lvl cat) as 37 lvl. I was happy that i finnaly got hands on some cool looking pet and started killing mobs to level my new friend.
But problem is, as i killing 38 level mobs, im getting 320 XP (unrested) and sharing with my pet only 75 XP per kill...Doens't pets must take more that half your XP too?
