When I came to get a snake for the top rank breath; I found it was quite easy to do so. Once you get to the temple, you'll notice that the snake you need actually patrols by itself. The temple has grouped patrols, and lone patrols, so you just wait for a lone one to come around, then trap and tame like anything else. There's huge gaps in all the patrols, making it quite easy to tame and leave before they show up. I didn't get touched at all taming this snake, given that my ZG ID already had cleared trash at the time.
