Nostalrius Begins - Quality wow vanilla realm (1.12)

Hi folks,

Somehow I'm not able to tame a bear. He throws me off my feet before the channel gets through and cancels it, but I recall being able to tame one in vanilla.
What am I doing wrong?

Any specific bear? If you're talking Mangeclaw, he has a spell that disrupts casting. This includes tame beast. You simply have to recast tame beast.

I had the same problem with the bears just outside Auberdine. You have three options:
1) You can get a friend to assist and have them hold aggro while you charm it
2) Wait until you get the freeze trap and then charm it
3) Once it knocks you down, you should be able to have enough time to charm it before it does that ability again. If you have more than 1/2 your health when he does, go ahead and retry otherwise run, reset and redo.

#1 is the easiest by far

There's another solution :

You use another pet to tank it while you tame.
A few seconds before the channeling ends, you release your actual pet.

That's pretty clever, didn't think of that.
