Nostalrius Begins - Quality wow vanilla realm (1.12)

since i hit lvl 40 for some reason i always have to dismiss my pet than recall him.. he will still be by my side and everything looks normal but he wont attack or do anthing til i recall him. has anyone else had this promle? and how to fix it?
