The damage component of scatter shot gets fully resisted by paladin talent: Unyielding Faith.

Seeing how scatter shot is scaled directly of weapon damage it shouldn't be considered or treated as a spell. The damage component of the ability should not be fully resisted, but instead should be mitigated by armor

Isn't Scatter Shot an effect, as well as a damaging ability? It debuffes the target with a debuff, right?

I mean, it's just like Kidney Shot or Cheap Shot. They are physical abilities, but they can still be resisted, because they are Stun effects.

it has a damage component and an effect component. The damage component falling under physical damage and the effect falling under a disorient effect

Resisting the effect shouldn't disregard the damage it deals

I'm no expert, but doesn't it work like any normal Binary spell?

Did some more research, but I guess it being bugged in this way might be intended as it didn't get fixed until 2.0.1

The spell school being physical means it should be affected by physical game mechanics and I've never fully resisted a weapon attack before :^)

Well, Cheap Shot / Kidney Shot are resistable despite being physical abilities .

neither cheap shot or kidney shot deal damage

I specifically remember scattershot being resisted in vanilla...all those years ago.

Ya I even remember it as well Hood, it just how it was.
