you have some spare points until lvl 60 to spend as you please, but there's a few things that drastically improve your survivability in the field. Nost is a PvP server, you will run into people who insist against your will that you should be PvPing, and so stuff like Healing Focus is a must. Improved fearbomb speeds up the leveling, actually, and is good in PvP also. Silence is self explanatory. I pass on wand spec because as shadow you output enough damage with mindflay not to need wand at all.

Some of the older guides say that BRD is hard to heal as Shadow - but they were written before 1.12.1 mechanics. Is it viable to heal BRD as Shadow?

You'll probably need some +healing gear for Golem Lord and Emp.

If you have a ton of +heal gear, maybe.

At level 55 with a Holy spec, I found Emp very hard to heal. He hits like a goddamn truck, and throws out ~1200 damage stun abilities to random party member every 7-8 seconds. I had to use potion and dark rune, and still ended the fight OOM.

The first half of BRD, sure, you could shadow heal it. But everything past 7d would be a challenge, and Emp would pretty much require a paladin or druid for off-healing.

I would not advise healing anything past Sunken Temple as Shadow. All the 1-50 dungeons, sure, you can get by as Shadow without any problems. But starting with BRD, tank damage gets pretty high.

I was able to heal an entire BRD run as Shadow with the use of mana pots. It helped that my tank was better geared that I was though.

I never had a problem healing any instance as shadow, even UBRS or Scholo... I don't know what you guys are doing wrong to have problems. Downrank heals and don't waste mana on useless heals, people can bandage themselves ya know
