Healing in a raid

Calling it e-peening to heal faster so that players are on non-full hp a shorter amount of time is just silly. If you are ending the fight with close to full mana because you just cast Heal 2-3 the entire fight, or to be lazy and never abort then you are probably just a significantly worse healer than that "e-peening" flash healing/GH4 using priest doing 2-3x your healing.

You misunderstand me. My quip about e-peen and flash heal is the situation where a priest competes with a paladin to get a quick heal in when death is not imminent. Say a rogue loses 500 health, he still has 2k-3k left or more. He's not going to get one-shotted. In that situation, it's pointless to cast on him, let the paladins who stack mp5 top him up. Casting a flash heal in that situation is pointlessly padding the meters.

Now if that rogue has lost most of his health and is in a risk of dying, then of course a priest should use a flash heal. It's an entirely different situation.

As varth said, it all boils down to communication between healers, heal assignments and how disciplined the raid in general is.

Or one guy was cleansing the raid while the other one was spamming flash heal? It depends on the situation&context and RaidStats, as useful as they are, cannot provide it.

The normal scenario is that there are several players who have taken damage, in that case pointing a rank 1 flash heal or a LH3 on one of the players is my preferred play in MC. If the rogue is the only one in the raid who has taken damage, then yeah, I'd most likely just pre-heal the tank. Sitting idle is not going to be the option I pick.

If you are dispelling feel free to add 1500 healing to the meter for each dispel/decurse I wish RaidStats did that as it would make it a lot more interesting in many fights and wouldn't encourage as much bad behavior.

Regardless, I'm not talking about every now and then. I'm talking about constantly just healing way less, regardless of fight. What I'm saying is that while squeezing out that last itty bitty bit of extra healing on meters isn't really all that valuable, being able to dish out a lot of healing given the parameters of the fight really is and that you are doing yourself and your guild a disservice if you aren't making sure that you actually hone your skills for doing that.

There are times for honing and saving and squeezing the maximum out of every last drop of mana, and there are times for dishing out the maximum healing possible and a truly good healer should master both those areas.

Do you have a name for such addon?

I don't actually know of anyone else who uses it, but since I started using it, I can't raid without it anymore. It's pretty raw as far as addons go, and I've never even used it on nost, although I have no reason to believe it wouldn't work here.
