Dwarf or Undead for PvP

Dwarf or Undead for PvP

So, Dwarf's are best in PvE, as I heared, and not bad in PvP... But, when it comes to PvP how much Dwarf racials lag against Undead ones?
Srsly, after watching all available Vanilla Shadow Priest PvP videos, noticed that they ALL were Undead, I'm thinking of deleting my 35 lvl fatty Dwarf and coming to the dark side, you know

Fear Ward can be dispelled.

Also UD in vanilla for pvp is like playing the game on Very Easy.

Stoneform vs Devouring Plague is the real competition here.
Stoneform can help vs hunters and rogues.
Devouring plague, despite the 3 min cooldown is useful against everything.
Imho Undead>>>Dwarf

Devouring plague cost around 1k mana

Desperate prayer ?!?

i would trade desperate prayer and FW on 30 sec CD for Wotf anyday...

Well, they say that DP is best to use with Inner Focus. Desperate Prayer is free for mana but it has 10 min cd , also it can't be used in Shadowform, as I know, so I need some time before using it while switching SF off and back, that is actually a waste of some mana...

playing as a pocket healer on feenix for a while, i find that Fear Ward is nice when you are pocket healing a warrior or rogue. Although UD have WoTF, you should have a pvp trinket if you are going to be serious about pvping any way. Along with Stoneform for those pesky rogues that want to pop out of no where, pop that, pop shield and you are golden. Pop fear right after cheap shot and then pop stone form, so when the rogue (most likely undead) pops his WoTF, he cant hit you with crippling poison and by then you will be far enough away to kite until your rogue/warrior buddy gets to you to peel. Your warrior can hamstring the enemy or the rogue can crippling poison him, in which you can turn around and SW:P to keep him out of stealth/vanish, by then Fear will be back up and his WoTF will be down and its a GG win.

I havent really played SPriest all that much in pvp, but i know if any melee get into melee range as SPriest you are pretty much fucked. you have to pop out of SF just to heal, which you will be stunned by then if they get into range, now you take extra dmg, your shield will be on CD from weakened soul, you have to hard cast heal which will be interupted or you can desperate prayer if really needed, but if you fear, they will trinket, and then you are pretty much a gonner. I feel i can play better as hybrid shadow/disc in pvp than i can as pure sahdow.

hybrid you still get black out, mindflay for slows, imp mindblast and shadow weaving for all +dmg, along with getting imp wand, imp shield, imp stam, imp IF, and all those goodies from the disc tree. plus you can still pocket heal very well and very mana efficient.

Well this clearly shows that what you're saying about not having played a lot of sp is right.
SP are known to completely shit all over melee classes, especially warriors because of the shield.
As an SP you're not suppose to try to kite like a frost mage, but rather take them head on. Shield, fear, self healing, 3 sec stun proc helps you do so. The PvP gloves with the interrupt on MB also makes a huge difference. +15% phys reduction with shadow form + 30%++ armor also helps a ton with survivability.
It's not unheard of for an sp to kill a warrior before they can even break the shield.

SPs are extremely good in PvP, especially in 1v1 situations. One of the biggest drawbacks of the SP is ooming all the god darn time. SPs are very bad when it comes to mana as their spells use a lot of mana and they have no real way to regain it. When the new PvP gear with MP5 is released that won't be as huge of an issue though.

On the question whether to go for undead or dwarf: Undead for shadow, dwarf for holy, it's that simple.

DP is insanely expensive in terms of mana, but that's what you have IF for, to offset the mana cost of this amazing ability that heals you for about half your health while doing decent damage.

Dwarf is of course best as a healer by a long shot because of fear ward and stone form.

Another important thing to note is that a lot of horde players are undead and thus being an ally priest with fear being broken my WotF 24/7 is not a great experience, especially as a sp. I played a human warlock in vanilla, I know how annoying it is.
