Holy Priest - how do you get around farming/money?

Hello!

So I haven't yet decided what I'm going to roll but I'm leaning towards a holy priest. However, I'm just bit worried how much time I actually need to spend on farming and just in general acquiring gold to buy consumables etc. I've played some vanilla before, as a hunter, and it was really not much trouble at all. You needed some mana pots and mongoose elixir and you're set.

I guess just farming herbs or mining nodes is the way to go.

Appreciate all tips!

There are some good comments there, might be worth checking out. And it's not class specific so.

I've had a priest in the past and it's really not too bad to make money if you're an alchemist/herbalist. Make your own consumables or sell the really popular herbs and buy them. Oh, and farm Flask recipes like crazy ;)

Comments on this spec? Goal is to be able to farm with +dmg gear (preferably with +spirit) while also being able to run instances and raids. I know it's not an optimal spec for raiding, but really all I'm missing out on is spiritual healing (which only actually becomes a talent when you have high +healing) and perhaps mental strength. Maybe Imp renew too

Spirit Tap + Spiritual Guidance seems neat

The priests I knew made an alt, either hunter or warlock for grinding money.

Agreed with the useless squishy fly above me.
Else, grab a rogue (ideally combat) with you and go farm Tyr's Hand or wherever...

Make a Paladin, spec Protection, and AoE farm Undead. Frost Mages also did this. If you don't want to AoE farm, then Hunters or Rogues are best.

I'd drop the 5 points in spirit tap, honestly. You're going to be drinking a lot as either a holy or a disc priest if you're farming mobs, and while the +spirit you'll have from your gear will be good, I don't think its worth dropping the 5 points from spiritual healing.

I'm a little confused at your comment about it only becoming a talent when you have high +healing as well. It's a flat 10% boost to your healing, and while it does become better at high +healing numbers, it's not like it loses its usefulness all together if you have relatively low values.
