Nostalrius Begins - Quality wow vanilla realm (1.12)

Can anyone elaborate as to why they used to be so good? It just seems like a poorer version of a warlock with a bit more self-healing. All I can remember is getting my face absolutely melted by them back in the day but it's been a long time.

SW:P is the hardest hitting DoT in the game, and given that you have talents in your tree that increase it's dmg by 26% before shadow weaving stacks - which then increases it's dmg by a flat 15% after ward - and it lasts for 24 seconds, well, you can do the math.

Then you have mindflay, which his really hard, especially with the aforementioned shadow talents, and scales reasonably well (86% dmg coefficient) with +spell dmg gear.

Vampiric Embrace is amazing as well, you return 30% of the dmg you take to yourself and your group as healing, and combined with a shield that neuters warriors, it just makes a lot of melee jokes. Self dispel (make a macro) also is really useful.

Shadowpriests take a while to ramp up their DPS, but once you get a full stack of Shadow Weaving up on a target, and let off a mindblast and a full mindflay, your target's hp starts dropping really quick.

Yes melee is a joke once u have 4 k hp
Also all nonheal classes die on your dot... perverted 500 per tick ( buffed) hitting 8 times... thats 4 k hp

You're not getting 500 dmg ticks of SW:P without major end game raiding gear.

Yes, its possible, but you made it sound as though it were a surety, which it most certainly is not. You won't see 500 DMG ticks in anything other than top notch pve gear, and likely that includes potions and flasks as well.

You will melt faces as a shadow priest in pvp

yes they are good in pvp if you know how to play. their strength lies in their ability to dispel enemies and yourself or your team from magic which is very strong. also mana burn if you cannot somehow kill a paladin. you can pretty much shit on warriors and rogues if they let you out of their stunlock ora re badly geared (which everybody is right now)

The disadvantage as sp is the lack off skill required to faceroll 1 v 1

in grp pvp u be zerged cuz no real cc;-)
