Wand Macro

Is there a reason why the following macro:

/cast Shadow Word: Pain
/cast Shoot

doesn't seem to be working? It just gives "Another action is in process" when I try to use it.

Is it just because of lag or what? I've used this same macro on BC servers and it worked fine. IE, I could hit the button once and it would cast SWP and immediately start wanding.

Here, I have to wait about 1/4 of a GCD before I can start wanding. I have to hit the macro twice, once to cast SWP, and again to start wanding.

They rewrote the scripting language to make it moore simplified for TBC, so im pretty sure that macro wont work in 1.12

It does work, it just doesn't work in a single button press like it does in TBC and beyond.

Nope, the game doesn't even recognize /stopcasting as a command.

Do I need to just install one of the macro library addons? I've got a few of them, just disabled.

Elaborate on this. So the macro works...but you have to press the button twice? I'm not an expert, and I'm not certain how it should or should not work...but I would think that with each press of the button that the macro would attempt to sequence from the top...meaning that it will always try to cast SWP.

If this is true...then the only time you would start wanding is if you happen to get your second press in during the global cooldown...so you're always going to have to double-click, quickly.

I'm wondering if the error you get is because your second press occurs during the global cooldown of SWP?

Answer - it shouldn't. All macros in Vanilla were built around the "one press, one action" mantra. It should stay that way.

Except in vanilla with no addons you could hit all cds with one button click. I did that with orc war with 4 cds and mage with 3 often
