Ninja recruiting from other guilds. Is this ok?

So basically, members of the guild Exodus are going through /who guildname and recruiting from other guilds members.

Personally, I think only a low class guild run by a no class, unethical guild master would allow this. Personally, if I found one of my members doing this I would /gkick them on the spot. This is NOT the type of reputation I want within the guild community.

Just a heads up to other guild masters, this could be happening to you too. If you see people leaving for no reason, joining Exodus that is probably what is happening.

I'm not sure how Nostalrius views this, but personally, as a guild master, I think it is pretty low class.

perhaps, but i haven't seen it. I certainly haven't done it, and it is a cheesy low class tactic. Rather then help new members level up, just go ninja from other guilds.

Happens to everybody, but takes two to tango. They are called guild hoppers. Usually is a member who was not apart of current farmed content progression, rarely login on non raid nights, and are not given 2/3 of the loot so they see greener grass else where. They will leave for the next guild and leave the next guild for another. In a constant pursuit of greener pastures.

These types of players will never stick out wipe nights of progression.

It sucks that after I and a few of our top guildies get them pre raid BiS in a week or 2, to see them ninja quit at 3:30am to try to hide it, but it is truely better for the guild if those people leave sooner than later.

Well, I can honestly say "Who's laughing now?"

Apparently this big "raiding guild" as it was being called, is almost belly up. Very few members online and active, and the lower level members that left to join them, got left by the side of the road, like unwanted kittens.

IDK I still think its a crappy way to have to find members, but its even crappier when you just leave those members to fend for themselves.

But, the guild feels that they made their own bed, and so they can lie in it.

There is a particular way I look at this phenomena. I see two sides to a person and the guild they reside in. To one side, what they will have for themselves, and to the other, what joy they find in the happiness of others. If a person and their guild are both balanced, the guild will be prosperous, achieve much over long periods of time, and the individual is satisfied to an extent. This is great for any guild if they seek perpetuity...and decent for the individual's own needs.

Guilds thrown together for what they shall have for themselves are candles burning at both ends.

A guild like mine, where we seek folks who lean heavily towards the happiness of others, will be around forever, but we shall never acheive world firsts or much care for titles, accolades, or the finest of gear. We find interest and happiness in many things over long periods of time....and we are certainly in the minority.

I could say much more, but in the end, losing these types of people only benefits your own guild long term, but perhaps doesnt satisfy any immediate, driving needs.
