Raid Rotation

Hey guys,

Just wanted to ask, whats the basic rotation for raid bosses? I plan to go DS/Ruin spec (unless the guild needs the imp otherwise)

Don't worry about it. There's only 2 guidelines to remember.

1) don't end the battle with a bunch of mana.
2) try to get lifetaps anytime you have to move

If there isn't time to cast another Shadow Bolt before the target is dead, use Shadowburn. Other than that spam Shadow Bolt, Life Tap when needed, and don't pull aggro.

If it would be just the shadowbolt spam then I´m quite confident the warlocks on this server wouldn´t suck as much as they do.

The One That Spams the Shadowboltbutton way harder than anyone else!

On a more serious node, it´s mostly about positioning and about when to pop external & internal cooldowns to max out your DPS.

Just some examples:

Should you have the Talisman of Ephremal Power and/or a priest assigned to you to use Power Infusion you need to watch out for some events to happen before you pull the trigger for those:

• 5 Stacks of Shadowweaving
• Nightfallprocc (in the best case)
• Improved Shadowbolt
• (Curse of Shadows but that should be obvious)

So don´t just burn your CDs, try to get the best out of it.

Then there is the possibilty to use Shadowburn.
You would want to use that spell in three different situations:

• Boss is about to die before your next shadowbolt will hit (finisher)
• Your PI or trinket is about to run out before your next shadowbolt would be done casting (maximize the trinketuptime
• You see a Nightfallprocc AND a Improved Shadowbolt procc on the mob

Your finisher for a boss or every mob thats about to die would look like this:

• Finish your last Shadowbolt
• Use Deathcoil
• Use Shadowburn

Your Shadowbolt and your Deathcoil will both hit at the same time and basically at the same time your Shadowburn hits aswell. That´s if you´re lucky a massive burst towards the end.

Well of course it depends on a few other things like mentioned above.
Have used 3 flasks since launch, no salvation, PI, runes or potions, shadow priest, or trinket yet for short fight inflation. Feels bad man.

Can't really compare factions. Horde has some pretty big hindrances if without a tranq totem.

I dont think playing like that you can call any other warlock stupid. Because you are kind of wrong.

When you use cd's like trinket or PI depends on length of fight. Never save cd to stack if you can get multiple uses of it during fight, this is best decided boss per boss basis, but generally of course its better to wait few seconds if you know Shadowweaving will be up soon .

Why the fuck would you save deathcoil and shadowburn to BURST down BOSS at end is beyond me. Primarily use of shadowburn and coil is to do some dps when you have to move due to boss mechanics or whatever and dont want or need to lifetap (because thats what youd normally do when moving) and if you are rich on shards you can also use shadowburn on cd as it has better cast time/damage than shadowbolt.

If u have trinket/damage buffs use dots also at end or even CoD, all that crap. You didnt say anything about that.

Addons for spamming to minimise amount of time between clicks, you didnt say anything about that.

I think you are one of those warlocks who suck on this server mate, sorry. Your suggestions would add like 2% dps if someone is not doing that already.

And lock who got most consumables and gear and perfect fight/procs will always have more dps than better player who miss some of that. Fucking shadowbolt spam IS 90% of lock dps, skill doesnt matter THAT much.
