Leveling as Affliction

Until 30ish, you dot and wand. Technically, that works all the way up til 60.

Once you have Improved Tap, Improved Drain Life, and Fel Concentration, you can start with loading DOTs, and then use Drain Life instead of the wand. The VW cannot hold aggro, and this is called Drain Tanking.

If the mob cannot be tanked, you have to fear kite by loading dots and keeping the mob feared.

At 40, you can pick up Dark Pact. This, combined with a passive Imp and Cannibalize is endless grinding.

Why should I drain tank? Higher DPS, faster killing, more xp per hour.

Why should I wand? Grinding while watching pokemon reruns on TV or porn on the other monitor.

I usually do :

CoA - Corruption - Immolate - Fear then dps with wand and cast SB with NF procs...

I found that quite efficient but a little bit manavore...

What about you ? what do you suggest ?

Im still not entirely sure what Id recommend as for rotation, but Corruption, CoA are always going to be used, because theyre insanley mana efficient. Other than that, what I personally used for most of my leveling experience is this:

Corruption -> CoA -> Siphon -> Tap x2 -> Drain Life -> Tap -> Drain Life/Drain Soul -> Drain Soul.

On single target you dont want to fear, its very hard to make that mana efficient, most of the time simple drain tanking is better. I ran with my voidwalker on passive and toggled taunt on and off depending on how much mana my void had, in general 2/3 taunts per mob then disable and drain tanking untill the mob is almost dead, at which point I send void (still without taunt enabled) to start working on the next mob while I wait for the Improved Drain Soul buff, by the time I place my second dot I enable it again on the voidwalker.

This basically means youll be killing mobs 100% of the time, only stopping for voidwalker mana and health every now and then, at which point you want to bandage / eat to refilll your mana pool.

But as Ive said, not sure this is optimal, its just what I felt was the most comfortable, havent done any math on it.
