Hey guys I was just wondering if there is a cookie-cutter demon spec that is commonly used for pve and raids?
Right now I'm working towards :
http://www.wowprovider.com/Old.aspx?tal ... 5002000100Which I guess is more of a Destruction spec than Demon, but I couldn't find anything else.
Thanks!

There is no viable PvE demonology specs at the moment, it simply lacks damage.

For PVE, spec Ruin in the Destruction Tree. Your options after that are anything that buffs Shadowbolt damage.
ShadMaster in the Affliction tree, or DemonSac / Master Demonologist in the Demo tree.
It looks like you have a DemonSac build.
Under the current environment, DemonSac Succubus is the highest DPS.
With more debuff slots, SM is the highest DPS, until BWLish level shadow power, at which DemonSac takes over again.
MD with Succubus is equal to SM, but without all the neat Affliction toys. Better for wand/viod grinders.
MD Imp is a tank group bitch and healthstone vendor. If your tanks are the problem and you are constantly threat capped well below your maximum DPS output, MD Imp is technically higher dps as it lowers your threat... but it is difficult to make up a loss of 10-15% raw damage.

I'm not entirely certain the succu buff
actually stacks with MD buff although I'm aware the icons stack. I've downloaded recap and will see if there really is a 15% damage difference between our locks

The only problem with going for DS is if your guild wants an imp out to buff the tanks. This will probably only be the case in progress raiding though and not really necessary in current content because it's so easy anyways. I'm running a soul link shadowburn build mostly for pvp. The dps is lackluster without Ruin though and I'm considering respeccing to DS/Ruin. It is tempting to skip improved corruption to get MD as well, but as Nervous writes, I'm not sure if it actually stacks. I can test it out too though as I have the correct spec.

Okay I tested out if MD stacks with DS and it seems like it does. I pulled off all my +damage gear, explained to quite a few confused lowlevels what I was doing and started testing it out in Elwynn Forest.
I used Rank 9 Shadowbolt with no buffs or anything to test a baseline. Then I pulled out the Succubus and tested with it, sacced it for the DS buff and tested, lastly paid a paladin to ress her and tested with both. These are my test and calculated values:
Predicted average 481
Tested average 483
Predicted average w. DM 529.1
Tested average w. DM 524
Predicted average w. DS 553.15
Tested average w. DS 554
Predicted average w.DM & DS 601.25
Tested average w. DM & DS 600
As you can see there is quite a noticeable difference between having both buffs and only one of them. It also fits with the predicted average.
Now the question is if it's legal or not. As far as I understand it was legal to do during vanilla, but was fixed in one of the latest patches. So obviously it wasn't intended. I've asked before if it was legal or not and I haven't got an answer. Admins please?^^

I don't ever remember being able to take advantage of DM and DS at the same time, but I'm definitely going to respec if the rez works.
