Is the passive mana regen element of Improved Drain Soul definitely working now?

I've rerolled a warlock I started at the launch of Nostalrius and recall that after some testing it appeared to be bugged here - I don't want to waste a point in it while levelling if it's still bugged.

There is no passive portion of the improved drain soul, it only has an active component.

Ok, so is the latter component of the talent (...In addition your Mana may continue to regenerate while casting at 50% of normal.) only in effect during the duration of the Improved Drain Soul buff?

Yes, the wording isn't clear, but that means while you have +100% to your Mana regen, 50% of your out-of-FSR Regen continues during FSR, while you have the Talent buff.

Basically, let's assume a Warlock with :
Out of FSR regen : 100 Mana every 2-second tick (from Spirit and MP5).
FSR Regen : 10 Mana every 2-second tick (from MP5).

With the Talent buff on you, you should have :
Out of FSR : 200 Mana / 2s
FSR : 110 Mana / 2s (the 10 from MP5 + 50% of 200)

I can confirm it almost never works, the buff also cancels when you enter combat.

I hate this talent, even the wording. "may continue to regenerate" . You have to make a special macro for it to make sure your pet isn't attacking it. It would be great if it worked, but I don't think its worth the two points while leveling.

It's the most broken talent in the game, this talent along with insane efficiency dots means that a leveling warlock is the best farmer in the game before 60. You're easily able to achieve 130-140 kills per hour thanks to this and a voidwalker, even with 0 gear.

Sure, it requires you to manage your pet, but if you think clicking two buttons is too much for the most broken talent in the game, sure, don't use it.
