Nostalrius Begins - Quality wow vanilla realm (1.12)

Does eye of kilrog supposed to aggro nopcs? If yes should they chase the warlock or should they stay where they are after they kill eye of k?

Thats what happened to me last night. Eye aggroed whole tower and npcs killed my warlock
Just wanna confirm this.
