I have read around a little and bloodvine set seems crazy good for warlocks? Is this correct? And how hard will grinding the mats be?

Should be good through AQ40 into Naxx unless you have 5 piece 2.5 and even that is really close.

The reason why bloodvine is so good is that it brings a ton of %hit and warlocks need that more than any other class. Mages start with a 6% hit with their talents and their ZG enchant gives them 2 more (head / legs) and only need 8 more hit to reach the cap. Warlocks don't get any of that free 8% hit so they have to find it other places and at higher gear levels, hit% is very good, though crit% can be better but that depends on more factors like how many warlocks are in your raid and if you have a shadow priest.
