Feral in Raids?

Feral in Raids?

by seeker303 » Sat Jun 13, 2015 1:34 am

I know this has most likely been talked about. (And yes I searched this and other sites forums about this subject and found answers, both ones I was looking for and ones I wans't) Mainly I wish to know what other's feel about this. Now I really like Feral Druids, even in vanilla, but I fully understand they are not "wanted" but they will be "taken." I wish to know how difficult it will be to roll as a Feral druid that is willing to be flexible (in the sense that I will go Kitty DPS, Bear OT and Feral "Heals") When needed while staying with my Feral spec. I am also aware that I will probably be the last to get geared if I join a raid guild and I dont mind that, I just wish to know how difficult it will be to get a raid spot in a guild and if you have any tips or things I should know about. ^.^

I may have already said this but I am aware that Resto Druid is the way to go and I honestly 100% agree Resto Druids are the best for Druids, but I also feel that being a Flexible Feral can be, maybe very little, but still somewhat "useful" for a raid team(Though this is my own, very biased, opinion :P). Anyways Thank you for any and all useful information you may give ^.^

Search this sub-forum more, lots of threads on feral. Yes, feral druids are of use to a raid. Typically in a raid there would be a spot for -one- feral druid, which does make it harder to find a group to raid with. However, with a server this large, if you can play your class well and know how to itemize your druid for playing feral, you should be able to find a group of people to play with :)

Not too difficult for spot or for gear.

Most raiding guilds take 0 feral druids: http://realmplayers.com/RaidStats/RaidL ... ?realm=NRB

Look through the raids. In the last 20 MCs that different guilds have posted, I counted 3 feral druids.

That's not even close to "Typically in a raid there would be a spot for -one- feral druid", it's more like, 15% of guilds, usually the less serious ones, take one feral druid.

^ Thank you Debby for that enormous downer.

Yes, most 'serious' raiding guilds ran by teenagers will not allow ferals because they are not 'l33t' enough. We are all aware.

While that is true to a certain extent, it's also up to the individual to play the class the right way and show simple minded people that it's more than viable as a offtank mainly, however it can easily maintank everything available if needed.

Trying to change simple minded peoples' minds is like trying to turn peanut butter into jelly. Good luck with that!

I do agree with Awkwardlol though. In order to play a feral druid, you must know exactly what you are doing. You also have to plan for it far in advanced, because there are certain items (mark of tyranny, smoking heart, warden staff, ring of protection, etc.) that are actually pretty damn hard to acquire.

Where as, say a rogue (or any other straight dps class) your only job is to DPS, and as long as you aren't afk and are using some kind of attack, you are useful.

That, and lots of idiots try and play feral druids by just running around in cat form in BG's 24/7 which makes us look bad as a whole.
