Resto assist damage

Resto assist damage

Hi,

I will be playing with a warrior friend, focusing almost entirely on the pvp aspect of the game (with the necessary pve here and there ofc). I know shamans can get somewhat shat on by melee but hopefully the warrior will be able to peel and on the other hand will be able to support him against kiters and casters with totems and shocks.

Now, I am not sure about this but I remember that back then hybrids were more fleshed out and I recall resto shamans doing some pretty serious burst with bolt NS CL and shocks. Is this indeed the case or are shamans more defense oriented (like palas for instance)?

Thanks
Crom

you can definitely go on the offensive. I am using a full pve build right now 0/5/46 with no epics and like half pre raid bis and ive beaten warriors 1v1, ive beaten rogues 1v1. The rogues i don't beat have to vanish gouge and blind me multiple times to get 3 sets of stealth openers to kill me. The trick is to think of your self as a melee. Don't hard cast lightning bolts with a melee in your face, put on flametongue and spam frost shock / flame shock if it's a rogue. Heal when necessary with war stomp if you go cow and try to juke their interupts early. Finish with NS CL / frost shock combo. Also lightning shield does good damage for the mana cost and you should keep that up too.
