Shaman water totem quest

about a week ago, me and another player just 30sec before me, we both completed it with no issue at all, so at the time it had been already fixed.
But, after the new patchlog I cannot be sure 100% if it broke itself again, but I don't think so

P.S: a very important tip: wait until the huge glowing green vortex animation has completely expired around the elemental in the center of the little pond (I mean in case another shaman before you was doing it), and later WAIT the spawn of an hostile water elemental right at the left of that. It should need only some mins, but he'll spawn for sure.
Kill him and complete the quest at the brazier.

I should have been more specific. My issue like some of the others is that I need a new sapta. I killed the elemental, placed the bracers on the altar but never talked to the elemental. Waiting for another player to do the quest for the elemental to possibly show up is a good idea though. Thank you

I am having the same problem not getting a new sapta. Abandoned quest, accepted it, no new sapta, abandoned it, logged out / logged in, accepted quest, STILL NO NEW SAPTA. Waiting for a shaman to come along so i can party him and maybe we both get bracers.

All the shamans are rude and won't party me though. :/

FOUND A FIX.

If you somehow waste your sapta, just wait 3 hours for another shaman to show up and party him. You each get the bracers on elemental kill, and you can see the spirit too.

First 2 shamans didn't help me, third one came by and partied, finished quest n.p

Btw this is the worst and most boring quest in vanilla... I wish they removed it.

I too lost my sapta and couldn't get a new one. Tried everything and spent half my weekend trying to resolve it.

It seems that the only way to finish this quest without the sapta is to camp by the water elementals and wait for another shaman to come, and group up with them. You can both loot the bracers if you're in a group. If you make the group while the other shaman is already fighting, no one will get the loot. However the elemental respawns after a few minutes.

It really sucks that the most boring and pointless, but necessary, quest in the game is broken like this.

I am having this same problem. Very frustrating.

Did this quest right now. Just make sure, that none of elementals is dead before you drink sapta. And use all your fire stuff to kill your target. Nevertheless there is npc Tiev Mordune who give the quest for new water spate if you failed. Good luck.

Here's how i fixed it:

Group with another Shaman on same quest, and you will both get the kill. The elemental will become visible once he attacks it!
