Nostalrius Begins - Quality wow vanilla realm (1.12)

Sup guys, so I have some experience playing a shaman although not in vanilla and I have been wondering what spec I should level as. I like the idea of elemental but I'd also like to be able to melee some as well. I have come up with a hybrid spec which uses a 1 handed and shield, is it actually viable or just totally ridiculous? Honestly my shaman knowledge is pretty limited so any advice is most welcome. Thanks in advance

Lots of combos can work. I think you'd be better off with a 2h when you get WF, though.
