Nostalrius Begins - Quality wow vanilla realm (1.12)

Sorry probably been asked before, but couldn't really find anything here on the boards, but I levelled a shaman to 60 and made the mistake of staying enhancement all the way so now I am stuck in crappy DPS and bad enhancement gear. I want to reroll either elemental or a ele/resto hybrid for occasional AV pvp and running around in the world.

What kind of easy obtainable gear should I go for?
Mp5 gear? Is that still "pre-bis" for a resto as it was around server opening, and does it help a hybrid spec?
DPS caster gear?
What kind of spec would you recommend for being undergeared?
I prefer having some survivability alone as I am not planning on using the shaman for anything but occasional PVP and gathering.

I should probably mention that I have access to most crafting professions but money is kinda tight so really expensive stuff on AH is a no go.

To be honest it's kind of asking a lot to say "what places should I go, in what order, and what's easy?" lol, that's really subjective. The guy posted a guide with gear to get for resto, all you have to do is look up where the items drop. If that's really too much effort, I don't know what to tell you. Also, yes, spell power gear is better then mp/5 if you are going a hybrid spec (which you shouldn't unless you are doing pvp).

Sorry but ocasional Av pvp means pve Char for me, my mistake!
Apart from that the guide covers gear questions pre raid and gives in depth knowledge how to be a shaman healer in order to obtain a certain Gear Lvl before Elemental gets fun.
Collect your T0 and farm DM and scoop up anything Mail or leathery with spell power as pre raid ele.
With cloth you will just gimp yourself and people will call you ninja! But undergeared Ele does about the same dmg as enhancement! well your choice.
I would recommend a Resto build with 21 ele for critdmg at this gearlvl. Use your totems, support your Grp and ocasionally chain lightning for some kbs.

That guide is of some use, as it goes in depth on many things and some items that will be the BiS for both Resto and Ele - but it is so bloated with pure resto content that it's missing the Ele/Resto category. Just pick and choose though, it's an alright tip guide in general for Shaman.

Failing that, I have found it to be a good idea to parse through boss drop lists and find which has items you need yourself and figure out what bosses are in your range that you can kill, and which ones have items that will be upgrades.

One benefit is that while Enh may be heavily gear dependent, Ele is less-so - and you'll be fighting from further back and able to stay out of the fray longer. And I'm sure as a Resto-Ele spec you'll have more viability in PvP by being able to stay alive longer while your damage catches up. Healers are always welcome though, so you may have better luck respeccing to a healer for a week or two and gear up that way. Gearing Ele from Resto spec makes a lot of sense to the group too, while if you were Resto gearing Enh, people may think ill of you a bit more often; if you roll on a Mana+ item that is a massive upgrade for you as Ele as well as Resto, it may very well be the BiS item for both Ele and Resto so you'd be free and clear to gear that way.
