Interesting thoughts. Personal experience is always useful. Personally I did pugs on Feenix as prot, and did just fine, and my guild hardly ever raided, *shrug*
I think as any spec, and as any class, your gear is as successful as your guild, but I don't think that its related to just Prot Paladins.
