What is everyone's (mostly the Paladin prot/ret fans) opinion about lvl 40 Paladin Tanking.

Especially Scarlet Monastery ?

Would like to hear their attempts/opinion/experience there especially by Theloras , TheFishyOne , foszy , DrearyYew .

(i am curious of what you guys think as opposite/same or criticism about this) . (will stay myself reserve from comments here).

SM is...tedious as a Tankadin. If you don't have 3/3 Imp RF or keep Sanc on everyone, at all times, you WILL lose aggro to most DPS and even some healers. Engineering is an absolute MUST here, unless you have a pocket Hunter who can reliably pull for you, as body pulling is so not cool here. Regular groups can also be hard to come by, if you're going the route of leveling through Tanking.

If you haven't already, I would invest in some level-appropriate consumables; namely Health and Mana pots, as well as Wizard Oil. If your Cooking skill isn't up to scratch, buff food as well. If you're not going the Pocket Puller route, bring plenty of nades.

Since there are a LOT of casters in here, be in the habit of LoSing any pull you can. Also, if you don't have a Ret Pally (or lock) to do it for you, judge Justice on EVERYTHING outside of GY. It makes this sooooo much easier, and is something you can do that the Warrior or Beartank competing for your spot cannot.

I haven't Tanked for SM yet on Nost, I have healed it but at 40 you should be pretty much done with SM, unless you collecting full Scarlet Set which is I never did for tanking.
RFD & Ulda would be my choice (Ulda will probably tear you apart though)
Razorfen Downs have lots of Undead mobs and nice trash for aoe tanking (watch them casters)

Tanked all of SM without a problem, just tell your grp to kill any shields first and its smooth sailing

I'm not sure why mid level tanking/healing/dps is even a relevant topic of discussion.
I'm 100% positive, that I can level as holy 1-60. I can Tank/heal/DPS for any dungeon even as 60.
I did the same thing on other server when i leveled as Ret, I tanked/heal'd/Dps Dungeons all the time till 60.

That's the advantage as a support class. we can do it all!
Now.. come raids.. This is a complete different story!
