Paladin tank question

Paladin tank question

by Swordx » Wed Nov 25, 2015 7:54 pm

Hey there,

I got a question about prot pally's. Even though they may be less viable or whatever, I still like to try them.
It's about the Defense cap. From what i've read, people are trying to get the Defense cap. Ofcourse, to not get critted. The thing is, why do they bother to run with Redoubt and Shield Specilization talents? I mean, you have to get critted for these talents to work. So why are people going for the defense cap while running these talents?

Thanks in advance!

You can sit down and the next attack against you will be a guaranteed critical strike, allowing you to benefit from Redoubt. If you have defense cap it means you can do that in a controlled manner, meaning no random crits at low health, you sit down to eat a guaranteed crit at full health when you don't risk dying.

I thing you confuse Shield Specialization with Def Cap.

Shield Specialization increases your Block with Shield by 30% .

It work perfectly and is one of our most awesome Damage Mitigation Talent.

(in order to get Shield Specialization) you need Redoubt.

Redoubt is working overpower when you are AoE Tanking with Reflective Shields.

For AoE Tanking you don't need Def Cap.

For Boss and Def Cap = Shield Specialization is mother in law .
