Profession choice

I am currently level 14, playing with a friend. He took up mining and blacksmithing for professions. What do you reccomend I should learn? I don't really care about having maximum profit so I would probably rather not go double gathering professions.

engineering for paladins all the way seeing as we have no ranged attacks - having grenades will allow you to pull mobs from range while tanking as well as being essential for PvP

well im going for holy so i dont think i will be tanking. wouldn't i have money problems if i went for engineering? i picked up herbalism for now to make some money. also, are grenades really that strong? i dont really know anything about them

edit: i also took enchanting as i never tried it before on any type of WoW

If you are going raid. You might also consider alchemy. Engineering/Alchemy is a good combo for paladins.
But unless you know how to play the AH, i would at least have some kind of gathering profession until you get one of them maxed and hit endgame.

The thing with engineering and paladins are that paladins only got 1 ranged attack - Holy shock,
and you wont get that before lvl 40 if you go all holy. And in pvp situations - 1 silence or interrupt and you are totally shut down, and cant do anything. So this is where engineering comes in handy.

I personally picked up Enchanting and gathering Ore to help with money.

Enchant/Mining is my personal choice. (I am leveling holy)
