Is there no place in a raid guild for Tankadins?

So my Vanilla Dream and reason why I rolled a Pally here on Nost was to Tank in the endgame as a Pally, and for a moment, the dream was in my grasp...

...then the guild which recruited me to be a Tank merged with another, and I just got done talking with their MT, and he was pretty clear that, with the sole exception of the occasional trash pull, I will never have a place in that guild's tank corps.

Although I enjoy Healing as well, the prospect of being a TRaidtankadin is my Pally's raison d'etra, and I'm not ready to give up on my dream and take my place in the back quite yet. That said, all the guilds I had inquired about prior to dining 60 were pretty clear that they were not interested in Tankadins. So, I am in something of an existential quandy with my Pally here; are there any raid guilds of any worth out there that will take a Tankadin? If you raid as a Pallytank, what did you have to do to earn your spot? Should I just hang it up,and accept that I will never be more to a raid than a Priest in Plate?

My guild's MT is convinced that Taunt is too valuable for boss fights. When I tried to correct him, citing bosses other than Ony that were Taunt immune, his rationale was that we haven't fought those bosses as a guild, and I spent 2 years on live trying to talk sense into a raid leader with that same mentality, and it got me nowhere; I have no interest in such a futile exercise here. I don't want to force my preferred playstyle on a guild that simply doesn't want it.

You choose a tough way, but I'm sure you could find a guild.

You need to define raid guilds that are "worth it" a little more. I think it's really hard to get a tank spot at a top guild, as paladins have too big disadvantages while their advantages are nice but not mandatory.

Are you capable of tanking every fight in the game ?

I'm sure you are.

Is it likely that a guild will have an easier time with a warrior MT?

I'm sure it is.

In other words, a guild that won't regularly wipe on the trash in UBRS, or one that has a bad rep and will take literally anyone they can get. That's all, not necessarily a top guild, just one capable of getting stuff done.

Then I'm sure that you will easily find a guild. Maybe you need to give it a little time, but I'm sure you'll find one as there are lots of those that you described.

Especially now that zg is released and can be done every 3 days lots of groups will search on the chats and you might run into a guild that needs a new tank in their roster.

hey dude , well i guess what you are searching in piracy servers like peenix and nostalrius chances are too low to get in some guild.

2 things is the main reason : stubborn people with bad knowledge about us and bad working abilities.

anyway

if you want to success faster in getting into some guild you have to start with pugs and prove people that you can do the job they don't believe.
The rest comes itself slowly.

Inaccurate Knowledge yes, bad working abilities? This always seems to be the excuse for you (not to nitpick on a personal level, but you honestly always blame bugs)
We are not the only class that has bugs, come on Duki, your better then that.

Live your dream, Prove the naysayers after you prove to yourself, don't settle for less. If their isn't a path, MAKE the path. seriously, I read your forum posts, I seen your interest and you ask legitimate questions. That alone is something worth your excellence.
As any Tankadin will tell you... This includes myself, Duki, Theo, and csythen (when he is around) it's not easy, and you have to work nearly double as hard compared to a warrior. If Vanilla was easy, we would have less committed players. I consider tanakdins one of the hardest roles to pull off in Vanilla, yet still one of my Favorites if done right and you sir.. can do it!

Everything that is free and © is piracy or privacy. (legal or illegal) those are 2 different worlds.
Legal is "privacy" using for your own only, Illegal is "piracy" using for many to join .

Advice like this should let you know that your expectations should never be higher than you can get.

Mages have bugs that increase their DPS , Warlocks,Shamans etc have bugs that increase their DPS.

Unlike them (speaking about Protection Paladin) .

We have terrible wrong and bad Seal of Righteousness which is not even doing close damage to how much we should do , neither sp coefficient is working proper or anything.

(this is exactly the main core Tanking ability for Single Target such as Raiding Bosses etc) .

Beside the fact that Nostalrius denied Blizzard Evidence that One-handed weap spec should increase our abilities dmg by 10% based on assumptions is just another irony .
(this affect not only jor/sor but holy shield and consecration either).

Consecration i already been discussing on long term discussion that is not working as retail but i got denied in same way (assumptions) .

Yes we have strong "beneficial" aoe , but what is most important is that our Single Target is extremely bad which is the Key of our Tanking Raid Bosses.

Pug doesn't mean you have to be 5 mans . Pug means 40 mans and 20 mans .
So you can share everyone how good your performance are in order to get a hand for some Guild.

Better Pug than 0 practice while you still stand guildless or without raiding guild .

I didn't give him this advice to push him back to 5 mans or respec.

I gave that advice to let him know what he should expect and how to adapt in order to make success.

Duki, I followed your advice and went to a ZG PuG run (primarily) by a new guild called <Machine>. I was invited as a Healer, but ended up tanking, and my knowledge of Pallies in general impressed some of Machine's leaders. After the raid (which fell flat, as many pugs left after the first wipe...), I got to talking with their GM, and he turned out to be far more enlightened than my old guild's MT regarding non-War tanks, and offered me a proper spot in their Tank Corps, which I accepted.

Granted, my decision caught my old MT off guard, as I was their go-to AoE tank, as well as the better of their whelp tanks during Ony, but I explained my decision to him, and we parted on good terms. He's a great guy and a good Tank, but our opinions on what Pallies could tank were irreconcilable, and after wasting 2 years on Live trying to talk sense into a raid leader who just couldn't be bothered to hear it, I had no desire to try again. I left a decent gig behind, but it wasn't my dream. Caesar never would have conquered Rome if he had never crossed the Rubicon, after all.
