Spell Power Retribution BiS - Updated for AQ

With AQ just around the corner, it's time to dust off your flowers (Therazane's Touch) and to start smacking bosses with some random blue sword out of ZG that seems like shit but is actually BiS forever for Retribution Paladins. Yes, SP Ret is stronger single target dps than traditional 2H Seal of Command Retribution in AQ, and even more so in Naxxramas when we are able to use two high SP scaling abilities; Exorcism and Holy Wrath.

DPS from SP Ret is much more consistent than 2H Ret, in addition to being stronger DPS. The rotation is almost exactly like 2H Ret, but instead of using Seal of Command, we use Seal of Righteousness.

Keep in mind that in order to DPS Molten Core and Blackwing Lair, you will need to use Ironfoe and some glove alternative (I recommend the R7 PvP gloves) since bosses have high Fire resistance or even Fire immunities in these raids. Alternatively, you can just heal in MC and BWL.

1% Melee Crit = .9714 Base + .36% SP + .1469% AP (+ subjective value to account for Vengeance, 1) = ~4.6197 DPS

here is the list of the weapons which scale per dps (it is tested with 140 spell power).
Fiery Retributor is number 55 far from every other weapon.

There might be some items that did scale, and some other that did not scale, it's case by case most of the time.

However, regarding this ticket, the 2006 Video definitely shows it shouldn't scale.

The "Pure Evidence by Blizzard Customer" is basically bullshit, the GM admits he doesn't know anything, says everything he says is to be used with caution, and just mentions that he kinda remembers that some items (which?) were scaling. This is the only part of the GM response on which people claiming the Gauntlets should scale are relying on, while this part is basically where the dude working at Blizzard doesn't answer as a GM, but as a human, a player and uses his memory, which isn't a proof at all.

People claiming that the 2006 video isn't from retail or might have been modified or whatever have about 0,001% to be right (I mean, private servers weren't a thing in 2006, and what exactly would have been the POINT?), while the GM response they're relying on is about just as likely to be right (the irony!).


Regarding the comments on wowhead or the Feenix github, no formal proof either. Lots of comments from TBC, speculation about other items etc. Nothing that beats the video from the OP.

The Storm Gauntlets, to the very least, should NOT scale with Spell Damage.

as 2dmg is nothing but a junk.

Only FIre damage should increase the damage of the weapon , not the "spell damage"

e.g fire damage elixir etc.
