CURRENT PRE-RAID BIS?
Just whipped this up off the top of my head (So I havent cross-checked any gear) but this would give you a solid start on Crit, AP, Mana while offering 5% hit (While not forcing the player to break the bank or farm ridiculous gear)(youd still need int/mana enchants to ballance out the gear):
Head: Lionheart Helm
Neck: Mark of Fordring
Shoulders: Lieutenant Commander's Lamellar Shoulders
Chest: Ogre Forged Hauberk
Gloves: Knight-Lieutenant's Lamellar Gauntlets
Bracers: Battleborn Armbraces
Belt: Belt of Preserved Heads
Legs: Leggings of Destruction
Boots: Knight-Lieutenant's Lamellar Sabatons
Ring: Don Julio's Band
Ring: Painweaver Band
Trinket: Darkmoon Card: Maelstrom
Trinket: Hand of Justice
Back: Cape of the Black Baron

You pre-raid BiS list has multiple PvP items - in order to be fair to everyone, I would remove them as not everyone has time to grind PvP rank (as I mentioned earlier - especially the shoulders as those are rank 10.

Also, the DMF trinket is shite here on Nostalrius - the proc rate is much lower than it should be and useless on 50% of the mobs in MC anyway (earth elementals are immune to nature dmg). Belt of Preserved Heads is also from ZG so that isn't PRE-raid BiS either.

list alternative trinkets for swapping on mobs that are immune to the nature damage proc.

@imba they calling it by short name : BB. as alternative for swapping only for specific mobs/bosses which are immune to nature.

other than that , i mention already , you can use (example) hunter d1 should , you can use Zul Gurub Paladin Sets ,

In 1 word , if you are willing to replace "pvp" because you are not "pvp" player , go for some items which contain "intellect/agility" or "intellect/agility with sp" .

There are items around Game that consist this stats , and you can farm them from Dungeons as "literally preraid" . (if you are to remove pvp sets) .

Pre-raid bis is pre-raid bis. Its 3 guaranteed items if you put in the farm. If you make a normal BIS set you put in items with a random drop which might never actually drop or take 2 months to drop. Everything in this game takes some farm. Espcicially for a spec that is "controversial" (wether or not if that is justified) you should know what you are getting yourself into.
Also he is putting in 200 G of consumables every raid. If he just uses some of his time farming on PvP i'm sure he can get rank 10. Which from what i'm seeing he will be using a while. Even if your raid items do drop you have no guarantee of getting them as your previous guild proves.

I do agree that theorycrafting should include Nostalrius code (incl bugs, because lets be honest you guys won't get alot of attention from devs because you are just too few). That can be part of the fun tbh.

Also you should always look towards the hardest content currently in the game IMO. But take into account that some guilds have different standards. Some guilds will require you to be fully buffed every run, even MC to increase the speed (I bought some items from Dreamstate, they run it fast with full buffs so they can run a 2nd alt raid the same night). But some guilds are just ok with clearing MC + ZG on one night and ony + BWL on the other with minimum consumables.
If he is just pulling competable DPS in his raid due to stacking more consumes than his guildies he might fall of in his guild progression raids where more people will buff up.

Yes, but come AQ40, that's when Retribution itemization finally comes into its own with T2.5 Avenger Armour.

Jup but you are already talking about having the items. Which means the content has to be cleared first.
You have to be good in AQ40 with MC/BWL/ZG/AQ20 gear.

You cannot justify a raid stop in a progression raid on the notion of "guys i need the gear this boss drops, i will do good dps once it is on farm".

But idd 2.5 set is nice upgrade for hybrid specs. Ret paladins will benefit more from it than most classes. From AQ40 itemization in general i believe. But that comes into play in Naxx progression (if i recall correctly the set items drop from the last bosses/optional bosses)

I got the last bomb on vael and died with all the world buffs we had. So i had 0 world buffs while the rest of the raid did. Also at that 288dps avg on bosses im 2nd in avg dps for ret pallies in BWL. Beating rets that have full BiS with my 3/4 blue gear. And finally im top ret dps on nef and was top ret dps on chrom til recently

You still had full buffs except world buffs?

Just don't forget, the battle there is between you and holystrike , where there is no other retribution paladin which is doing the theory as holystrike and raiding in bwl , i believe talesavo and the other paladin would do much higher , but they never been there as retribution paladin .

If you compare the dps there , it is only you vs holystrike . (other paladins using your way of dps)

my point still remain - you do that dps with full consumes where holystrike is doing the dps without any special consume used.

No intellect gear = bad pve dps.

Even if you upgrade the "warrior gear" , your dps will not get much higher , not at all because it will only minor increase consecration which is not core of our dps ability and will only increase white hits by far.

Seal of command doesn't benefit that much from attack power , it does benefit from spell power mostly.

If you compare the dps there , it is only you vs holystrike . (other paladins using your way of dps)

Smiter uses Seal of the Crusader (with Obsidian Edged Blade @ 3.4 swing speed)

Holystrike uses Seal of Command (with Asscandy @ 3.5 swing speed)

Both put up a single max rank Judgement of the Crusader however.
