Not that I am trying to promote another server but we had a debate/discussion on this topic back on Peenix - here is the link:

Read through it and you can see what makes sense to you guys.

Guys I have a Question regarding my trinkets. There are so many Options and I dont know which one is actually the best.

I know that HoJ is a must have, since everything can proc it and it can proc everything. So that is one of my choices. But the question is, which one do I choose for the second one and why.

a) Blackhands Breadth - Flat 2% on everything sounds pretty solid.

b) Zandalarian Spell Dmg Trinket - I got that one and I think 200 Spelldmg are pretty tight on a 5 min. CD it boosts eventual (!) SoC Procs and Cons and Judgements. But is it worth it? So does BB with its crit chance.

c) Maelstrom Trinket - I like this one alot, but I havent tried it yet. Is the procc rate really as bad? I read it should be around 10% and can do 300 to even 470 Dmg. Is this Dmg boosted by spelldamage?

Also: How much Crit should I have unbuffed? If I dont use BB i am missing 2% crit. I like to stack spelldmg but it always goes to the cost of agility or crit. I currently run 26% unbuffed with BB. 24% without.

Any Ideas and enlightements are much appreciated!

Alright i will answer this as unique far different from every paladin in server , all my answers was already tested and proved on the previous server and retail.

1- Maelstrom proc chance is much higher because it proc from White swings + Seal of Command + Judgement of Command + Hammer of Wraith + Exorcism , trinket get damage increase and scale with spell damage , spell crit and it can crit (also not sure if bugged in server) should proc vengeance too.
2- Hands of Justice it gives you extra white hit (current patch is 2nd trinket , Maelstrom is best in slot) it is nothing special , just an extra white swing that can crit and proc vengeance.
3-Heart of Wyrmthalak (when it gets released) is doing same job as Maelstrom , it have higher proc rate but does not scale with spell damage. (in combination with maelstrom this trinket is high end best in slot forever).
4- My personal most recommend Critical is 26% + 6% from buffs/consumes = 32% .
5- You should focus on Intellect gear in order to output maximum dps (e.c paladin sets) Example : http://realmplayers.com/CharacterViewer ... Killerduki This is how your gear should look like.
6- Zandalarian Spell Dmg Trinket is only good for certain fights in Naxxramas due to Exorcism , but nothing special , you don't need this unless you want it for pvp.

This is my PVE Guide , also confirmation for the DPS is the server where i used to play (so bugged that didnt work spell dmg) :

http://realmplayers.com/RaidStats/Fight ... ssLimit=Pa

(p.s compare to the paladin n.1 in the list , he use very high end weapon versus my extra poor weapon draconic maul)

In this server it will work twice much better because abilities work and scale much better than the other server.

(until you reach soft crit cap 26%unbuff) Agi>Int>Sp>Str
(once you reach soft crit cap 26%unbuff+6% consumes) Int>Sp>Str>Agi

1- Maelstrom proc chance...

In theory, yes you are correct Duki but here on Nost it's much lower than that I'm afraid. It's so low here (due to SoC not having the 0.5 sec delay) that I don't even bother using it at all - especially in MC where 50% of the mobs (aka Rock Elementals) are immune to its Nature dmg proc.

Heart of Wyrmthalak will probably suffer the same low proc rate fate here on Nost but we will have to wait and see when it comes out but it is similarly useless in MC to the other 50% of the mobs/bosses there since it does Fire dmg)

Yes, they both get boosted by +Spell dmg but you are much much much better off using Blackhand's Breadth as pre-raid BiS along with Hand of Justice.

ZHC is best used in conjunction in PvE when a raid boss target has a Nightfall proc on it so as to maximize it's potential - otherwise in PvP to boost your stunned JoC dmg output.

- Can anyone confirm the low proc chance? Or is this just something everyone feels like?

- just a small thing to HOJ: Its not just a white hit. It can proc extra white hits which can proc SoC and those can also proc another HOJ Proc and Socs, trinkets and other stuff.

- If Maelstrom is working right id go with HOJ and that, if not ill stay with BB and HOJ since the Zandalarian really isnt as great as I had thought, cuz there is no additional utility, just big Spellpower every 5 minutes.

Maelstrom is automatically 50% lower proc rate for Retribution due to SoC not having its 0.5 second delay.

This means that the trinket ONLY has a chance to proc off of the white hit and not both the white hit + SoC proc.

It's über shite for us until that bug gets fixed I'm afraid :(

Yes and Yes...

Seal of Command (Delay)
https://report.nostalrius.org/plugins/tracker/?aid=1289

It's also the reason why Crusader enchant is terrible imho for Retribution as well - Lifesteal or 30 Spell Dmg is wayyyyyyyyy better even without the 0.5 sec delay on SoC

ZHC is a 2 minute cooldown, not 5.

As for the delay on SoC, it has been reported on the bug tracker, but a definitive source has not yet been found to change SoC. SoC will stay the way it is unless a definitive source is found.

Maelstrom was always more of a PvP trinket anyways. The lack of SP and Strength gear at current content forces you into pure STR gear, limiting the effectiveness of Maelstrom. Maelstrom might have a place when we can get our hands on T2.5 and other AQ gear, but it isn't worth using outside of PvP until then.

the definitive source is the patch 1.11 patch notes - it's right there - the Nost dev just haven't gotten around to fixing the bug

"Since Patch 1.11, Seal of Command proc will have an approximately 0.5 second delay before the animation begins and the Holy damage is incurred, instead of having the proc occur instantly with the swing of the attack. This is considered a good change, since if the normal swing crits and Vengeance is triggered, the Seal of Command proc will be affected by the buff."
