Paladins, Engineering, and PvP

Anyone do Engineering as a Paladin as a means to "close the gap" against ranged classes and run down fleeing toons? I can see bombs, mortars, rocket boots, nets, etc. helping in this regard. Any comments or recommendations on what shares each other's cool-downs and/or what you like using?

Grenades are OP as shit for any Paladin running Command (Ret and 2H Shockadins). The Grenade effect counts as an incapacitate, which means you get the damage bonus from Judging Crusader. LIkewise, the Goblin Rocket Helmet also counts as an incapacitate.

I don't use the rocket boots unless I am flag carrying. I have been playing Holy recently, but Ret has plenty to stick to their target with Rocket Helmet, Repentance, Net Trinket, HoJ, and Freedom.

The number of Wombo Combos Ret can do with Engineering is absurd. Judgement of Command hits extremely hard when it gets the double damage bonus. Also note that Judgement of Command has a 20% SP coefficient, which is bumped to 40% thanks to the double damage bonus for stunned/incapped targets.

As far as CD sharing, I'm pretty sure bombs/grenades share CDs, but I don't think anything else shares CDs with eachother.

Every Paladin should be an Engineer. Between these amazing uses for Grenades and Rocket Helm for PvP, and FRD for PvE, Paladin Engineers are far too useful.

Thanks! I'm glad to hear that my curiosity was well founded.

I just ran across a similar thread in the Mage forum here: http://forum.nostalrius.org/viewtopic.php?f=44&t=20414

Basically, use cheap dynamite for pulling as a Paladin. Brilliant!

You also missed being able to Divine Shield and unload a Gnomish Death Ray and Goblin Sapper Charge.

Engineering is generally considered a must-have for Paladins.
