someone explain to me how to play ret paladin.

I'm so lost and feel so stupid. I honestly feel like a moron =(

I'm level 11 right now and I want to play Retribution. I don't know what seal to use? I've tried seal switching, but I don't know macros for it and it's not producing enough extra damage on NPCS to really feel worth it atm between Seal of Righteousness and Seal of the Crusader.

Also I have gone into Holy to end up going for Consecration, but where do I put the talents? Divine Intellect and Divine Strength I presume?

Am I entirely auto attack based? Also if I use Seal of Crusader, my judgment does no damage and since I have no holy damage right now assuming I stay on Seal of the Crusader and don't switch to Seal of Righteousness, my judgment is useless until Exorcism at 20, correct?

Help ;(

Ret Paladin DPS is based around Auto Attacks, Seals, and Consecration. Seals augment our Auto Attacks in different ways, and provide a Judgement specific to that Seal. So you pretty much have 3 buttons: Seal, Consecration, and Judgement. This is more than most DPS in Vanilla.

As for what seals to use, I recommend Crusader for 2H weapons faster than 3.6, and Seal of Command for 2H Weapons slower or equal to 3.6, with 3.8 being the ideal.

I recommend speccing into the Ret tree first to grab the Improved Blessing of Might and Improved Seal of the Crusader talents as soon as possible. Consecration is good DPS for early leveling, but it is extremely expensive. Once you have Improved Crusader and Might, you have two options: 1 is to go to the Holy tree to grab Divine Strength and Consecration, or you can continue to put points into the Ret tree to grab talents like Conviction, Seal of Command, Pursuit of Justice, Sanctity Aura, Two-Handed Weapon Specialization, and Vengeance. Repentance is also a great talent that will save your ass many times as it lets you get 2 consecutive Holy Lights off in emergencies.

Hope that helped.
