Rumour: Spell dmg not affecting SoCommnad

Any truth to this, as a recently minted Field Marshal, this'll be incredibly sad for my FM gear update and the subsequent Avenger's Set. Any paladins out there with a Talisman of Ephemeral Power to test this shit? :P

Just get an arcane elixir from the AH and hit a bunch of stuff with SoC.

If you don't get any procs at all that go above and beyond the 70% threshold of your white damage attacks. then it's not scaling - same goes for Judgement of Command - see if that goes over the Holy damage amount listed in the tooltip.

with 72 spell damage from 2 pieces with no strength or ap and a 35 sp elixir i hit 55 everytime.

so in fact seal of command does scale with spell power and closer to the 29% mark.. now we can stop worrying about that

on the other hand judgement of command scales very badly. something like 29% instead of 43. at 72 spell power final rank i never got a hit past 201 and that was after a lot of judging. the average was about 193 or so. again the max i ever got was 201 and a 402 crit. i should be reaching 200 minimum with 72 spell power at 43%

i didnt test with rank 1 because that one is slightly bugged and deals a default 20-30 or so damage more for its judgement.

so guys i respeced and only had up to seal of command with no other bonuses like 6% or anything like that. we should report that are judgement of command is receiving smaller scaling then it should. in the same report we should mention seal of command is also dealing a little more then it should. but clarify that for judgement of crusader is 29% bonus and sp is 20%

This is from another thread

so in fact seal of command does scale with spell power and closer to the 29% mark.

he means about judgement of the crusader

i heard from people in game that doesn't work command with spell damage

I'm confused as to what you are trying to say. He didn't mention JotC being used anywhere in his post. He said SoCom was used+spell power buffs and nothing more and no other talents.

SoCom should never scale by 29% from Spell Damage.

Only can scale by "Holy Damage" where Judgement of the Crusader is "Holy Damage" .

SP Coefficient - 20% .
Holy Coefficient - 29%.

P.S i would love if i am wrong for this <3 and seal work with sp.

I believe that's what the player had mentioned. that it was SoC, not SotC. We need combat logs I guess.

yes i never used judgement of crusader... thats why i mentioned it was odd that it was doing closer to 29% from spell damage and not 20%

do you guys not have one piece of spell damage gear? its not hard to test yourself because fist damage will do th same every time with seal of command. so even a bit more spell power you can see the different right away

most Ret Paladins likely do not since circa patch 1.6 there is no plate with +spell dmg on it at all

I have some but I'm not Ret spec atm
