How good does Paladin heal in PvP?

Paladins have 2 basic healing abilites - a very efficient, fast casting, but rather weak Flash of Light, and a 2.5 second, bigger and much less efficient Holy Light. The 3rd, Holy Shock, is an instant that heals for 380 and costs about the same, has a 45 second CD and, being an instant, scales a bit poorly with +healing.

I played Priest of Feenix and healed in PvP, having no trouble healing multiple allies that were being under attack at the same time with the mix of PW: Shield, Flash Heal and Greater Heal when needed. I know paladins have a different approach to healing, but I'm still curious about how good they can heal multiple allies. Holy Light has weaker base heal than Greater Heal, scales less since it's base cast time is 0.5 seconds shorter than GH, and after talent modifications, it even costs more than Greater Heal. Flash of Light, on the other hand, seems more like an uber-efficient raid heal than a reliable PvP heal to me.

What I want to know is how Paladins fare in group PvP healing. I know they are much more endurable than Priests, they can remove poison so Hunters cannot drain their mana, they have plate and shield + bubble, so it's only logical to assume that a focused paladin will last much longer than a focused priest. However, the base healing on Flash of Light is so weak, so even with naxx gear, I don't see it healing over 1k.

Is there any paladin with experience in PvP healing out there? I am starting a paladin healer on Nost PvE because I want to try out something new, and I would just like to know what I should expect of this playstyle, PvP-wise.

Apologies for a bit longer text than intended  , hope to hear from you people soon. :)

If you run around spamming holy light in pvp youll be oom pretty fast. most of the time flash of light is enough, but divine favor makes atleast the first holy light free so thats nice. honestly what you lack in healing options you gain in other tools like bop, bof, cleanse, and blessing of sac which makes you hard to cc. holy paladin is very effective in pvp altho any decent pvp grp will bring a priest for offensive dispells as well.

worst case scenario youll find as holy pala is having to spam holy light on a warr with MS debuff. if that happens pray that your team kills them before you oom. bubble/bless of sac will help mitigate a lot of dmg from multiple sources. save holy shock for when you gotta be mobile/help kill a important target

tl:dr keep your teammates on high hp so u wont have to use holy light

First, use this spec. http://db.vanillagaming.org/?talent#sVxurxoZVRtcc0x
Anyone who says otherwise is wrong. Holy shock is nice but weak. With a proper team you probably wont need to have this instant heal.
Divine favor + holy light always.
When you have 5 stacks of reckoning, equip a 2h and and assist with nuking the target. Then put your shield back on. (2k instant ...from a healer!)

Flash of light is your go to. Heal often, its quick and mana efficient. Most people ignore the paladin long enough so consistent casting is possible.

Ask yourself some questions:
Is there anything around me that can CC me? (Fear, Poly, Blind/Sap, etc) If so, use blessing of sacrifice.
Is my blessing of freedom off cooldown? Use it on a warrior

A note on hunters: If they are draining your mana, yes you can clense it. But they are probably just going to cast it again. A paladin can still be useful when they are low on mana, often more so than other healers. Ensure you are topped off and if needed BoP yourself to stop incoming ranged damage. Chances are the hunter will stop attacking you. Use this time to get into the hunters deadzone/melee range if possible but make sure BoS is up after to avoid freezing trap.

i only play pvp healers, done them all to 2.2-2.4 rating on retail.

Paladin are very good pvp healers, great at spamming in the big team fights, good cc immunity, magic dispel, and can take the most beating of any healer. lots of undead rogues on horde, and paladin can shrug them off.

biggest downside is not being able to heal while running, unlike priest/druid.

Blessing of Light + Flash of Light is your best healing combo. Sure thing, Sacrifice and Freedom should be used appropriately. Also if you see your teammates focus someone then judge their target with Judgement of Light and try to use Seal of Wisdom with some fast one-hander. Use Seal of Justice if you attack enemy healer (if there is such need). Be sure to have some very easy to read custom UI for your health and mana bars. And of course consumables. If I find myself cornered with too many debuffing - Restorative potion is your best friend.
