Arcane missiles

Arcane missiles

Arcane missiles isn't scripted correctly, as it was on feenix before they fixed it.
Currently, arcane missiles works as a dot on the target which does the dmg instead of it being actual spells cast. This means it is subject to the max 8 debuff slots and also other arcane missiles and moonfire will cancel it out.
This needs to be fixed ASAP since this makes it unusable in raids.

Well maybe it doesn't count toward the 8 debuff slots, but it's still being canceled by other arcane missiles/moonfire which I have a hard time believing is working as intended.

The posts says it counts for a debuff slot, and specifically states it causes the spell to be bumped off by other debuffs (and it bumps off other debuffs too, ofc).

Certain AOE spells such as Hellfire and Rain of Fire count for an invisible debuff slot, although it doesn't show up under the mob's portrait. The mage spell Arcane Missiles is another spell that does this, which is why you might notice your Corruptions disappearing on Vael after only a few ticks.

Multiple corruptions or drain mana for example doesn't cancel eachother out and corruption and shadowword: pain doesn't cancel eachother out eighter.

Of course they do. On retail and here too, if you reach the debuff limit.

Oh, so you mean if a target has 0 debuffs, a Mage casts AM on it (which causes no debuff to be shown but actually makes the debuff limit to take the AM invisible buff into account, which is Blizz-like) and then a Druid uses Moonfire on the same target, the AM gets interrupted, even if there were technically only 2 debuffs on the target (invisible AM debuff + Moonfire)?

In that case, well there is definitely a problem indeed :).

Yes, that's also how it worked on feenix, even without reaching the max 16 debuffs.

Okay, then you should report in on the bug tracker :)
