!!!I AM NOT SURE IF IT WAS VANILLA OR TBC!!!

many years ago i have seen a video of a mage (with green +int items) who was raiding with an arcane spec.
he had an unbelievable huge manapool.
he did just a little damage with arcane missles, but it took "hours" that he went oom.
with this manapool he did good damage.

does anyone know that video?
is this possible in vanilla?

thx cheerio

I don't know about the video, but I suppose in theory an arcane spec is possible assuming your mana pool can sustain it. The problem is that AM is not very mana efficient and therefore a huge mana pool is required to sustain it. Unfortunately until the bugs with Arcane Missiles is fixed, it is not possible on this server. Hopefully they get fixed soon!

Arcane Missiles are always inferior because there are no talents that significantly increase their damage output, and they scale poorly with spelldmg gear.
Mages don't need huge manapool.

the spec youre thinking of is from TBC.

To further the problems of an Arcane spec, AM currently takes up a debuff slot. So in raids, you can't even cast it.

the specc doesnt need +spelldmg.
only green items with +int.

what about 16 slots?

do you know that video?

maybe I didnt say it clearly:
this mage was fully green geared, MAXED INT and had no spelldamge or other stats.

In original classic AM stopped taking debuff slots after a point. In 1.12.1 it is not supposed to. Check out the bugtracker, it's supposed to be getting fixed.

What, I don't even

FYI, mage is a dps class. If you prioritize int over ways to increase your dps, noone is going to take you seriously. But yeah, it's "possible" in vanilla. You'll just do less dps than MT :P
