We're using AoEs to farm them for about 7-20+ gold per 5 instance resets.

Define 'wrong' in this situation. Something against the Terms of Use or doing something wrong as in how much gold I'm making? This is only factoring in vendor price on the items although I'm using the AH for the herbs and rare/epics.

Apparently in terms of how much gold you're making, the method is legit as nothing is bugged.
