In the retail game, this quest is repeatable, and for good reason.
What reason is that? Stay a while and listen:
I entered Westfall, stumbled on Saldean's farm and remembered this interesting little quest.
I wrote up a little macro to aid me in doing this little quest:
- Code: Select all
/run for i = 1, 100 do DoEmote("CHICKEN") end
One keypress later, the quest proc'd, and bought the [Special Chicken Feed]
I went back to the chicken, /cheer-ed her, and turned in the quest.
The chicken laid an egg, which, when right clicked, would reward the companion item.
At least, that's what SHOULD have happened.
I couldn't find the egg.
Maybe it didn't spawn... Maybe the quest is bugged... maybe someone snatched the egg from under my nose...
Regardless, I couldn't redo the quest to find out for sure. This is odd, because http://wowwiki.wikia.com/Quest:CLUCK! mentions the quest is repeatable:
It is possible to do this quest multiple times, even if you already have the pet, and it is possible to have several lootable Farm Chicken Egg spawned simultaneously by completing the quest multiple times in succession. The Farm Chicken Eggs persist for at least several minutes. You won't derive any particular benefit from extra [Chicken Eggs], but you might do this on behalf of others.
I spammed the macro to start the quest again, but to no avail, the chickens refused to respond.
My theory is that the quest isn't correctly marked as repeatable, despite this being the case in the retail version of the game.
Thanks in advance for the help,
