Banned for no reason

So... got a friend over and wanted to play some vanilla together. He got his old laptop and we moved vanilla folder over.
Started up the game as normally, but got the message: was unnable to connect
checked if the login info was correct and it was.
So he tryed again and this time he got the good old "acount banned etc." message.
He called his girlfriend at home to ask if she could try to log him in with his account, she could not, she got the: was unnable to connect message. Then when she tried to login with her own account she also got the banned message.

so i tryed to relogg and se if it was some connection issue but it was not.
then we tryed to login on my computer with his account and got: was unnable to connect

so i tryed with my account again, but this time i was banned... okay.....

we did check our "status" on the nostalrius frontpage login and it does not say anything about our accounts being banned.

friend's girlfriend: Aztia

that ban was old and the ban has been lifted because it was false.

it is an old ban (couple of weeks ago) that was lifted as she had not done any goldselling/buying. How does your system work when you randomly accuse people for goldselling/buying?
Also she did check her status thing on the frontpage and it said nothing about a ban.

I don't mind the bugs ingame I know it must be hard to keep the game running and all that smoothly when it is private. But this random accusations of people buying gold or being banned for nothing is really taking it's toll.
I am not trying to bitch and complain, but something is really fishy here. . .

Yes I know Hnef and I are not banned, but I still cannot login and I still get the account banned message. You seem to give this answer to everyone who has this problem today.

You will get the message if you (or someone else) tries to log on your account with the wrong password repeatedly. As a anti-brute force safety measure, that account then gets frozen for a short time.

Please go have a cup of tea, then come back and double check that you are writing down the correct password.

I have tried with hours inbetween login attempts since 17:00 today. I still have the same problem. And I get the account banned thing on my second attempt of logging in.
I type my password correctly and get unable to connect.
I try again and get "account banned"

Is there any possibility that someone else is trying to log on your account?

no there isnt.
I just tried again using a completly made up accountname and password in pure gibberish, example:"sefeghsjklj"
and I get the message that this account aswell is banned.

I have reinstalled the client 3-4 times already to double check that there was no problems with any of the files.

it is working fine now. Don't know why but I am able to log in. Thanks for the support
