default chat channels are localized.. wayaround?

For instance, if I have the english wow client, type /join general, this channel will not be the same as the /join general of the french or chinese client. Is there a way to join the default english general channel while playing with a non-english client?

(ps: this is only for the default channels general, trade, etc, the others like /world work with any client)

Same question for me. I got a French client and I can't see people on general or trade channel.
Someone found a solution?
